"Okay, so we got some other Buffy. Where's my B?"  The my.  The my!!  Ouch, right in the feels! You do that so well, dear Alice.

Alright, alright.  I know I'm late to the game, but I'm here now!  Really digging the start to this one.  I'm a terrible reviewer so don't yell at me if I slack.  I will do my best, but I already know I'm really going to enjoy this one.  How can I not?  It's by one of my favorite authors.  :p

Also, THE LAST UNICORN!  +100 cool points to you, ma'am.  :)

Author's Response:

If someone hasn't read TLU, I don't know what they're doing with their life (cough, cough Topak cough)!

You have completely missed most of the games by now. :p I feel like a child whose parents are too busy to come to her soccer games. I JUST WANT YOU TO LOVE ME! *sobs* But that's okay, you're here now. *pets self soothingly*

I am sooooo excited for you to read this one. Well, the other ones too, but it's really fun now because you'll get caught up to the ongoing story. :) I appreciate your reviewing even  tho you claim to be terrible at it. :p

"Can't you just like… magically lojack her?"   Hahahaha!  That's awesome.

Dawn's anger at Buffy feels so true and perfect.  She had her sister and Faith before, and now her sister is gone and the person who took her place . . . is not her sister at all.  But Faith is still Faith, so of course Dawn wants to protect her from this person who she still doesn't know what to make of.  You really hit the nail right on the head with her reaction to Faith being injured.

And Faith getting teary-eyed at the picture of her and her Buffy.  God.  She's right; not knowing if her Buffy is alive or dead has to be a complete mindfuck.

You do what you do so well, lady.  *two thumbs up*

Author's Response:

Thank you, gentle lady! *courtesies*

I always really liked Dawn's moments of loyalty, like sticking up for Tara, or threatening to kill someone if they hurt Buffy. I think she would idolize Faith in this dimension. She has all the coolness of Spike, plus she's been a rock for them since their mom died, and she's got that big sister stuff going on.

I really did put poor Faith through the ringer in this one. We'll see if you begin to curse me later. :D

Okay, I literally laughed out loud at Buffy being a brunette and a whole lot, uh, hairier, as a result of trying to restore the natural order.  I could just imagine her reaction upon finding said hairiness.  Giggles ensued here for many minutes, I can promise you that.  :p  And I totally get why Dawn is still shutting this Buffy out.  She still doesn't trust her, and with Buffy not looking out for Faith, Dawn has no reason to.  The natural order is upset and all is chaos.

And chaos is great for telling a story.  :D

Onward I go!

Author's Response:

Lol, in front of the Scoobs too! How embarrassing. :p

Dawn can hold a grudge like nobody's business. :) She's a brat of the highest order. Which is needed since the other Scoobs are mostly nice to her and accept her easily. Even Faith is being pretty nice.

Onward you went but you left before reviewing!! D: :p

Oh god, that breakdown in the training room.  My feels.  I can just imagine Faith's pain. It's pretty amazing she kept it together as long as she did.  :(

And then Buffy comforting her, if not awkwardly, to thinking about her boobs, well . . . I was feeling the sting of my prior heartbreak less by then.  lol

Slayerly bonding over food and beer gave me a case of the happies, even though I know it was hard for them both.  Still, at least they can talk now without Buffy being weirdly defensive.  And getting to hear what she's thinking about her own Faith, well, it just makes me wonder what if.  Could they have been as happy as this Faith and her Buffy?  Guh.  Just guh.

Onwards!

Author's Response:

Sorry I am so behind at responding. I suck. :( Buffy is so sweet with the comforting, but she wouldn't be Buffy if not also panicked and weird about it. :D

Faith was trying to keep it together, believing her Buffy would be back, and also being strong for Dawn, but yeah... this was the final thing. :(

(Also, I forgot to add, I TOTALLY would have read that fucker inside and out.  But that's just me).  ;)

Author's Response:

I would have too! I am known for my total lack of respect for others' privacy. If your diary is there, I will read it. :p

It was refreshing to see Dawn giving Buffy a bit of comfort, and even more refreshing to see tht Faith was able to forgive Buffy for her snooping.  Sure it's hard on all of them, but Buffy's in a bad situation too; she's  there with people who walk/talk/look like her friends, but in reality they aren't.  She's all alone.  Having Dawn and Faith on her side is a pretty big deal!

Loved seeing how easily Buffy and Faith fell into a flirty banter together, even after the drama of their previous encounter.  Guess there's no fighting the inevitable.  :p

And then when they were able to comfort one another after the engagement news . . . guh! All the feels!  Really loving this :)

Author's Response:

Woot! Thanks. :) Faith is more level headed here, so she's able to forgive more easily. I guess it helps that Buffy's actually willing to apologize. :p I was surprised a lot of the time by reviews I got on this fic. Seemed like people were way more sympathetic to Alt Faith than they were to canon Buffy. I myself was on B's side all the way. :p

"Could switching dimensions be causing changes to my," she paused, glancing around as if someone could be watching them, and then blurted out the rest of her sentence, "sexual orientation?"       Hahahahaha!  Oh, Buffy, you beautiful little flower!

"You're gay, too?" The blonde asked, in shock. "See, Giles, this is what I'm saying! This is the gay dimension. Faith's gay; you're gay; I'm turning gay! Everyone's gay here except Willow, and she's supposed to be gay!"    I'm sorry, but this one deserves a bwahahahaha too!  This is how Buffy handles her stresses; she completely panics and loses the plot.  lol    I love it!!

Love that, even with everything going on, Buffy still remembers and cares enough about Tara to want to check in on her.  Even in this dimension she's still pretty darn selfless.  :)  And I totally could hug Willow for suggesting Faith go on the roadtrip!

Author's Response:

That Willow, always meddling. :) Buffy was really working that gay dimension theory hard, but at least she's woman enough to accept that it's probably not inter-dimensional forces of gay at work.

"It just annoys me how you talked up your straight as an arrow bullshit all this time, when you had this epic love story with the girl who eats her own hair."  LOL!  Aww, poor Tara!  It's okay though, Faith.  At first glance I'd think she was a hair-eater too.  :p

The whole scene in the hotel, with Faith's jealousy and anger and then Buffy's admission, was damn near perfect.  No, not near.  It was perfect.  It's my most favorite kind of Fuffy scene:  revelation, shock, fear, acceptance.  Faith finally admitting "I shouldn't have stopped doing that" made my heart clench in my chest.  Their love scene was beautiful, and then end was hreatbreaking.  You hit all the emotional highs and lows so darn wall.  That's some serious talent you have there, Ms. Wonderbra!

Author's Response:

Well she was a bit of a hair-eater in the beginning, I think. :)

Thank you kindly for the praise, great and powerful Ozlectra!! :D If I have given you heart clenches, I feel successful! :p

Well, to answer your question, yes.  Yes I do need a hug.  :(  I mean, I knew it couldn't be all sunshine and puppies.  Especially after seeing how Faith reacted once Buffy had fallen asleep.  I definitely did not imagine her leaving to go to Xander's though.  I had hope when Buffy determined that they could talk, but then you went ahead and stomped on all my feels with her deciding that she needed to let Faith go.

That is the exact opposite of what she needs!  lol

Okay.  *breathes*  I'm calm, I'm cool, I'm collected.

...so you're probably gonna hurt us all even more in the next chapter, aren't you?  :p

Author's Response:

Yes. :D

Faith's instinct is usually to dodge bad situations, and even though she's grown up a lot... a tiger don't change his stripes and all that jazz. Hence the fleeing to Xander's house. :p

I apologize for stomping on your feels.

“The kind of soul mates that are meant to be together, no matter how many worlds there are, or what life throws at them. Buffy is Buffy,” he said, almost confusing himself trying to explain. “I’m not saying you have to marry her. I’m just saying, don’t push her away and say you’re doing it for Buffy. She wouldn’t want that.”  Ah, Xander.  He's always the voice of reason when it's really needed.  And really, that was such a beautiful and poignant statement.  "The kind of soul mates that are meant to be together, no matter how many worlds there are."  It's beautiful, and it makes my heart hurt for the Buffy and Faith we know from the show, because they just never got their chance together.

And there I was, all hopeful that maybe Xander had talked some sense into her and then that Buffy was finally making a move, and BAM!  What a train wreck!  Why must Buffy talk with her fists when her mouth doesn't work the way she wants it to!  Ugh.  Faith had every right to be pissed.

Ugh.  Ugh ugh ugh!  Fix it, Alice!  Fiiiiiiix iiiiiiit!!  lol

Author's Response:

Haha, I knew you weren't going to be happy when you got to this part! :D But with all the crap between them, I don't think they were ready for fixing just yet. Xander did talk some sense into her, but there were hurt feelings on both sides and it kind of imploded. Oops? :(

I'm sighing, but trust me when I say it's happy sighing.  Honestly, I think it was perfect.  The best, honest, most real way to wrap things up.  It's not a perfect fairytale ending, but seriously, who actually gets those? I'll tell you who: no one.

You've left Buffy and Faith with hope.  Their issues are laid flat out before them and they're taking each other's hand so they can get past them together.  Will it all work out?  Who knows!  But they're going to try.  Our Buffy let go of the old Faith, and Alt Faith let go of her Buffy.

It's the best way this story could have ended!

I'm proud of you for not going the 'kisses and sex' way because that's too easy.  This was real.  This was great.    Kudos, my friend.  Giant, mega super-sized kudos.

Author's Response:

Certainly not me ever in life. *GLARES AT UNIVERSE, SPECIFICALLY BUFFALO JUST BECAUSE*

Thank you very much. :) I think they work on it, and they can have a good relationship at some point down the line. And I'm kind of their boss, so that's probably what they'll do. :p

Welp.  I tried reading this chapter in bed and got all misty-eyed, and I tried now at work and that's still the case.  That first scene is still just as heartbreaking the second time around.  God, I can't even imagine how Buffy and Faith felt at that moment, knowing it was their last goodbye.  Ahhhhh, tears.   :(

And Tara's statement of "You love her" tugged at my heartstrings again.  God, you're just so good at that.  So much emotion in one chapter.  I swear, I'm not even a crier!  Haha.  Looking forward to what comes next.  Keeping a box of tissues nearby just in case.  ;)

Author's Response:

Oh sure, not a crier. Electraboo, more like electraboohoo! :D

Oh God, save me from my own horrible jokes. D:

I'm glad to have made you cry, at any rate, since at least you enjoyed the chapter. You probably won't cry at the next one! :p

Oh gosh, I can just imagine everything going through Faith's mind when Buffy tells her she's not only friends with but close to the Faith in her dimension.  And then to have to explain that she and Buffy were never close because Buffy had a lot of other stuff going on.  Poor Faith.  Poor Buffy. :(

And then this:  “There is nothing Faith could ever do that would make me give up on her. I have a feeling you’re not completely different people.”

God!  That's all our Faith ever needed!  Someone to not give up on her.  Bah.  It's like the two dimensions got their wires crossed and sent the wrong Buffy and Faith to the wrong places right from the beginning!

And the hand on the glass!  Jesus, Alice!  I cannot handle this in my current emotional state!  I need to go eat an entire cheesecake and have a bottle of wine or two.  Haha.  Loving this though.  Excited to continue, entire cheesecake or no.  :p

Author's Response:

Hmm, so you're speculating that if this Buffy were here the whole time, they'd have hooked up? And likewise for Canon Buffy and Alt Faith? Or did I get my own wires crossed there? :-)

I loooove hands on the glass, I am a total sucker for it. I have no idea why. I just love it. Poor Faith indeed. It's a lot to take in. Hard to deal with a Buffy that doesn't hate her and in fact cares about her. Topak is right; I am evil. >:)

Reviewer: Electra Signed starstarstarstarstar
Date: 09/24/2013 Title: Chapter 3: Chapter 3

Oh man, bad news for this Buffy.  :(  Not only can they not get her back, but the one person who brings her comfort in this dimension is behind bars for a long long time.  When she broke down after their meeting and her decision to stay, her pain was so real I could almost feel it.  My heart just keeps breaking for these girls.  Stop breaking my heart, Alice!  You are mean.

The visit at the jail started out so well!  There was talking, and snacks, and comforting.  And then:  “I didn’t know you were gay.” She looks back at Buffy, eyes widening. “I didn’t know I was gay. I mean, a little gay, yeah, but like move in with you and have a whole life gay… that’s… wow.”  I can't express how much I loved that.

I was surprised that Faith got defensive about her Buffy, but I liked it.  It's like, no matter how much bad crap went down, there's still that spark of concern and - dare I say it - friendship, as one-sided as it may be.  Now we just need her to give into her inner gay and bust out so she can make the happy with this Buffy. Ah, my mind is a happy place right now.  :P  Ready for you to break my heart again soon.  Haha.

Author's Response:

I have to break your heart so that later I can put it back together, and you can soar from the ashes like a majestic Phoenix! *tries to control ego*

Initially I didn't write too much of Buffy's breakdown in this chapter, figuring it would be a re-tread of what happened with Faith in Flowers, but then I thought of the masterful scenes from The Body and tried to draw on that. Buffy does cry and breakdown, but when the really, really horrible shit happens, she just shuts down. Joyce's death. Glory finally getting Dawn in her clutches. She has an emotional threshold that once she gets there, she's just done. It was kind of fun writing her like that. I swear I'm not mean though. >:)

Faith definitely has conflicted feelings about canon Buffy, and hearing about the happy shit in the other dimension really doesn't help. Now it's like, well, if I didn't suck so much, maybe I could have had her! Which isn't totally accurate, but Faith doesn't have excellent perspective on the situation. :C

Reviewer: Electra Signed starstarstarstarstar

"You lost me at gay for Faith."  Bwahahaha!  Love it!  And Tara's magic mushrooms.  Love that you're able to sneak in little funnies like that, even in an otherwise heavy chapter.

And yes, I mean heavy.  Heart heavy!  First Buffy's broke, then Willow's being kinda douchey, and then, when she just wants Faith to see that she's on her side and needs her, Faith slams the door shut on their tentative friendship.  And I mean, i get that Faith feels like she needs to do what she needs to do, but I wish she'd just understand that Buffy's not butting in; she's just clinging to the one thing in this dimension that makes her feel at home.

I'm just so sad for Buffy.  Time for another comfort cheesecake.  :(

Author's Response:

I'm glad these were e-cheesecakes, so you didn't gain 10 lbs and blame it on me.

I do think Buffy is butting in a liiiiiitle tiny bit. :p I think they're both right. Buffy should be able to take a step back though, and realize that although she feels like she knows Faith, Faith doesn't know her. It's not fair to try to butt in like that. Faith's on her own here, for the most part, and she's gotta make her own decisions.

Fortunately, I know you perked up when you got to the next chapter. :D

Dude.  DUDE.  I love your 'version' of season seven.  Uber Witch as the big bad, people trapped in town, some kind of magic bugs, spy birds?  Why did you not write season seven when it aired??  Seriously, that was a really cool time jump into this really cool new 'verse.  And the fact that Buffy and Faith aren't all awkward and angry?  Well, that's just a wonderful wonderful bonus.  Of course the gang is wary, but I have a feeling they'll trust Buffy on this one.  After all, it's not like they can run Faith out of town now!

Seriously love this twist, and super happy that Faith is physically there with them.  Can't wait to see where you take the story next!  You'll be happy to know no cheesecakes - real or virtual - were harmed during the reading of this chapter.  =)

Author's Response:

To be fair, if I wrote season 7, I would have gayed it up and possibly killed Willow, so that's probably not the exact direction they wanted to go in... Also, they just did Willow as Big Bad the year before. :p

Woohoo time jump celebration. *Sings* Let's do the time warp aaaaaaaaagainnnnnnn* or maybe *However far away, I will always love you...* Wait a minute. That's the wrong song! How did that happen!?

Well shiiiiiiit.  It looks like they're in for one hell of a fight.  Burnbugs, mutant animals, and the angry witch who is their driving force.  How the hell are they even gonna get out of there?  I'm scurred, Alice!  :p

Favorite part of the chapter had to be that little part in the gym though, when Faith admits she knows that Angel wasn't sending her the care packages.  The quiet between them, the recognition, Faith reaching out, and then . . . interruption!  God, I would have thrown a gym mat at those people walking in.  Haha.

Loving the progression.  Really hoping they make it out of there alive because they haven't even had a little smooch yet!  =P  (Read:  ;et them smooch!!)  lol

Author's Response:

SPOILER ALERT: they're not. I killed them. I killed Tara too, just for fun.

Okay, so I didn't. But wouldn't it have been amazing if I did? Everyone would tune for the next chapter and be like, wait, you killed the protagonists, and then Amy won? WTF? And then I'd change my name to Jerkbra, and watch as the member count decreased in the sidebar.:D

Buffy can't knock the clients out with gym mats, she kind of needs that job. :p I liked that moment too though. :) I like when they're adorable.

You are so kiss greedy! The kisses will come! Patience, young one.

"It’s incredible, how a person can be so lonely, and life just keeps going."

So incredibly poignant.  I can't imagine what Buffy goes through every day there, surrounded by people she knows but not the people she wants, unable to live the life she wants even though it so closely resembles the life she had.  Her lonliness has to be so difficult.  The quick hug Faith gave her when she was leaving the cot made my heart flutter.  Love that Faith gets the physical contact too; I think she needs it probably more than anyone.

The addition of Marcie is a stroke of genius, which I'm sure you're aware of.  :p  Can't wait to read that one-shot you promised.  :D

Loved loved loved the bedroom scene with Faith and Buffy.  It felt so natural, and it was even better because they didn't just start banging.  It was emotional, and I think that's something they need more than physical right now.  I mean, yeah, we all want to see the physical.  :p  But you're doing it the right way, and I commend you on that.  Too many people write sex scenes because that's what the readers want.  What you did is right for the story.  It just fits.  Loved it, the whole chapter.  Keep 'em coming :)

Author's Response:

It puts me in mind of this movie quote, "So the life that I was trying for is over. The life that I had is gone, and I'm feeling so damn sorry for myself that it's difficult to breathe." Except Buffy doesn't spare the time to feel sorry for herself, she just keeps chugging along because she's the slayer, damn it. She is very lonely though. I tried to make it so that she has at least Tara as a solid friend here who understands her and notices the pain she's in, but of course Tara has Willow, and even the closest friend can't really replace having a partnership like she did before. :( Why am I writing this fic again?

The one-shot... hmm... okay, look for that, March 2014 or so.:D

E, you perv. There will be no sex in this story! I write pure, innocent Fuffy. Didn't you see that with my previous stor--oh, wait. ;)

Reviewer: Electra Signed starstarstarstarstar
Date: 04/15/2014 Title: Chapter 12: Chapter 12

Okay.  I was wary.  I was super wary.  This business with Willow is bad news, BUT . . . I kind of think Faith was the person that needed to be there with her.  Everyone else is too close.  And hey, if it moves Faith up the list of people Willow trusts?  Can only be seen as good in my eyes!

Of course you'll probably totally mess with my head now, but I'm prepared.  Haha :p

The phonecall between Buffy and Faith tugged at my heartstrings because I could just feel how worried Buffy was for Faith.  Feelings that strong are born out of love.  And that, as you can probably guess, gets me all twitterpated every time.  :D

The Fuffy was amazing, as per usual.  You've never let me down during their intimate moments, whether those moments are physical or emotional.  And that last scene was both, and it was beautiful and perfect.

Don't make me wait five months, Alice.  It's cruel and unusual, and I am VERY unattractive when I cry.  :p

Author's Response:

Well now that you threatened me with ugly crying, I will get right to work on the chapter. :p

The Willow/Faith scenes took a long time to write due to my Willow hate, but I thought it was good for Faith to interact with someone else not Buffy. I don't know that anyone else would have left with Willow, even Xander, because he did trust her, but he also wouldn't want to go against the plan I think. He let Buffy be in charge girl.

I don't know what twitterpated means, but I'm happy to do it to you! :p I actually ended up liking the sex scene quite a bit too. Perhaps I shall stick with this less graphic way of doing my sex scenes now. After the other story you've been reading. The very next chapter has the special times. :p

What's there to say, dear Alice?  I loved this story.  I loved its companion piece.  They were both beautifully crafted and thought out, and I enjoyed every chapter (as rough as the last chapters were for you to finish).

I had to sit and think for a while why I enjoyed the second story so much, and I think I finally know why: it's because it's about the Faith we know from the series.  Not a different version of her where there were no fuckups or epic grudges; this was *our* Faith with all of her scars and flaws and history, and Buffy still loved her; still was able to see all of the great things that we do underneath all the scary baggage.

It's like the Faith we know and love finally got her due.  And it was awesome.

And they deserve to be happy together!

I was sad when you sent Faith away and was prepared to send you some nasty messages, but you fixed it.  And you fixed it believably and without too much fuss.  I appreciate that!

It's been an excellent ride, Ms. Wonderbra.  I'm ready for whichever journey you're going to take us on next :)

Author's Response:

"Fashionably" hmm? :P

I think I preferred Girl to Flowers also, as much as I love canon Buffy. The additional time from the dimension hop left room for healing and good stuff to flourish. Plus sometimes I find it hard to believe when canon Buffy gets super defensive about Faith and supportive of her with little development from where we left them in the show. Alt Buffy has motive to look beneath Faith's surface and figure out she loves her. :)

Reading your comments makes me almost want to go pick up B/F in Flowers so that Buffy can get her due too! She was totally underappreciated in Flowers, haha. Let's put that on my project list. ONLY KIDDING. Let's not get crazy.

I'm very glad you loved it and I hope you love the next one. :D

Have I not reviewed before?

I've not reviewed before.

I'm terrible :(

But I love the story, and I loved this chapter!  I'm wary of what Willow might try to do to 'fix' the situation, but I'm optimistic about what could happen between Buffy and Faith on their own.  It's hard and it's confusing, but I'm hoping that they can get past it together.  Love that Faith is being so gentle with Buffy.  Makes my heart all squishy and happy.  :p

Looking forward to more!

Author's Response:

Thanks!  I'm always wary of Willow.  :)  Faith will continue to be gentle with Buffy, too, more because she doesn't know what else to do than anything else.

Thanks again!  :)

I can't believe you posted this without letting me read it first!  And I can't believe how long it's taken me to review it!  (Or I can, because I am lazy and distracted).  But more than that, I can't believe you're writing Fuffy!  Somewhere in the Midlands, Kahlan and Cara are weeping and consoling each other.  :p

This story is typical of why I loved your writing from the beginning.  Fun, intersting, and sexual tension you can cut with a knife.  My favorite Fuffy recipe!  You still do it so well after all this time, boo :)

Can't wait for more.  I will probably harass you for more as soon as I get in the door tonight, so be ready!  :p  xx

Author's Response:

Don't make me feel bad about my beloved Cara and Kahlan *sobs* But then I'm sure they're fully able to entertain themselves on their own for a while :p

Thank you for reading, snugglebutt ;)

See, you always say over and over how your stories are all porn and no plot, and yes, you do the porn and the build up to it so well, but there IS plot!  It's not like a novel with intricate weaving of overwhelming plot, but it's an interesting tale with an awesome buildup of sexual tension.  That's what fanfic is supposed to be!  Haha.  I'm seriously loving how hard they're having to fight the hex.  (Secretly hoping it isn't all hex)  ;)  When Faith rested her forehead againt Buffy's, I knew the fight was over.  A gesture like that, being that close to someone; there's no stopping intimacy like that!

Damn the Scoobie for interrupting!

Can't wait for more.  Have I told you lately that you're awesome?  You are.  I'm a lucky girl, getting another Fuffy story out of you like this.  :)
